LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Release Date: April 2022
Role: Hub Design Team / Accessibility Consultant
IP Holder: Disney, Lucasfilm Games

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the largest LEGO Star Wars game to date, allowing players to play their way through all nine films of the Skywalker Saga, with new Missions covering content never before featured in previous LEGO Star Wars games.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga features the biggest Hub ever seen in a LEGO game, with over twenty explorable planets and fifty locations.

The game was released in April 2022, debuting on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Switch.

My workload on the project was divided roughly as below, though in the interests of clarity my implementation efforts as with all LEGO projects did not involve the creation of assets and in some cases the implementation was a joint-effort with another designer.

I designed, wrote, and implemented content for the planet Kef Bir's Death Star ruins, and provided quest and puzzle implementation throughout various areas of the game including Echo Base, Crait, Theed, Mos Espa, Coruscant, and Uscru. In addition to this, I worked on a number of incidental systems used to provide additional life to the world.

Alongside my Hub work, I provided consultation on the game's Accessibility settings and features, polishing and recontextualising the various existing systems and providing support in the late-stage creation and evaluation of new features.
